I’ve been madly thrifting and collecting new pieces. I found this dress and handbag while at an estate sale in Little Rock. The lady who owned it had a fabulous collection and impeccable taste. I even found some furniture pieces while I was there.

Here’s one of the other pieces I found at the same sale.. I love the back detail of the chair. I’m thinking If I can get a beautiful velvet to pull some color out of the back I can fix up the seat with it. I’m not sure the age of the chair or anything so if anyone knows I’d love to hear what the age is. P.s…sorry for the messy room.. I just snapped this picture really quick.

Have a great week! 🙂

One of my style inspirations has always been Ann Reinking’s wardrobe in Annie(1982). It had such a romantic feel that is so classic. I wanted to take an older style and update it. That’s the thing about inspirations – you can take what’s the most you and run with it. Now let me state by saying I would wear everything she wore in that movie in a heart beat. This yellow dress always seemed kinda dreamy to me. So my inspiration came from Chiffon – It’s a sheer fabric with movement.

I decided to pair my chiffon top and scarf with a darker suede skirt and heels to offset the softness. I always love to hear about what inspires people – even if they are the tiniest detail of something. What’s your inspiration?

I wish I could have posted the full set earlier because I absolutely loved doing this shoot with Myranda. We did three separate outfit shoots. We found a great spot in Little Rock for this set. It really speaks for itself. I will be posting the other ones as soon as possible because It’s exciting to see the finished product and I really wanna share. We are currently talking about a fun shoot for July – It will be a retro bridal shoot and I can’t wait!

This blush pink dress was a thrift find in Hot Springs. Adding the silk colorful scarf highlighted the neckline. It’s a classic look that can be more fun for a date night than just a typical LBD.

This 100% silk skirt came from Goodwill! The pattern is somewhat art deco, and the belt added emphasis to the irregular lines. I had been looking for a replica of the Valentino shoes I like, and these were a cute and affordable find. I decided to use makeup that popped while using a more neutral blouse. I used gold accessories to bring it all together. I thought this ivy would be a nice border while it’s still around – green things tend to disappear quickly around here when fall begins!

Summer is officially coming to an end, and it’s going to be an amazing fall! I wanted to do one last summery post because it’s still so hot here, it feels like summer is just beginning. I loved this dress, so I wanted to feature it while I still could. I have some exciting fall posts in store for this coming month. I’d love to hear some feedback on what you’d like to see! If you’re interested in pictures from my interior design work, I could show some of that as well. The houses I get to visit are amazing.

I hope everyone has a great Labor Day.

I found these Audrey Brooke shoes at DSW. I remembered seeing some similar Prada shoes online and I was amazed by the similarities.  I ended up buying them in-store and paid around 20 dollars, Once I found these, I knew I wanted to make a casually chic street-style outfit.

I was running late for work, so I had to put together this outfit in a hurry. When I don’t wear jeans, I go for my Banana Republic cropped pants. I got a few pairs in different colors back in December. I love how stylish they can make a pair of kitten heels look.

I layered with a breezy camel tone scarf that made my lipstick pop. Whenever I use a bold red, I try to keep it minimal. I wanted the outfit to have a vintage feel, but I offset it with more current material and the bundled scarf. This style with the cropped pants makes me think of a Grace Kelly or Jackie O ensemble. I’ve always admired the simple beauty in these outfits.

Let me apologize for the post being a day late! The past few days have been busy.

I went back to East Ninth Vintage (where I got the Neiman Marcus coat that I wore here), and I had a wonderful experience. I went right in looking for a wide brimmed hat, one that was a little more contemporary. I had been looking around for more local boutiques and shops, because I’ve always felt that you find the most unique pieces in places like these. I talked to Dayna Duncan, the proprietor, about what I was looking for. She went out to her car and brought back the perfect hat.

I wanted to bring in a spring pattern, now that the weather has been a little more mild. I really loved how the texture, and color in the hat brought together all the different shades,  I made my outfit complete with the yellow stone ring, which I wanted to stand out against the cool colors.

Shopping Local:

Blue brimmed hat: East Ninth Vintage:$15

Long Sterling silver necklace: The Box Turtle in Hillcrest: $31

My other pieces:

Floral top: Forever 21: $9

Blue textured pants: Banana Republic sale: $8 (The big sale after Christmas! I ended up with a lot of great slacks for cheap!)

Calvin Klein sandals: Goodwill: $4

Amethyst sterling silver ring: T.J. Maxx: $30
