I’ve been madly thrifting and collecting new pieces. I found this dress and handbag while at an estate sale in Little Rock. The lady who owned it had a fabulous collection and impeccable taste. I even found some furniture pieces while I was there.

Here’s one of the other pieces I found at the same sale.. I love the back detail of the chair. I’m thinking If I can get a beautiful velvet to pull some color out of the back I can fix up the seat with it. I’m not sure the age of the chair or anything so if anyone knows I’d love to hear what the age is. P.s…sorry for the messy room.. I just snapped this picture really quick.

Have a great week! 🙂

One of my style inspirations has always been Ann Reinking’s wardrobe in Annie(1982). It had such a romantic feel that is so classic. I wanted to take an older style and update it. That’s the thing about inspirations – you can take what’s the most you and run with it. Now let me state by saying I would wear everything she wore in that movie in a heart beat. This yellow dress always seemed kinda dreamy to me. So my inspiration came from Chiffon – It’s a sheer fabric with movement.

I decided to pair my chiffon top and scarf with a darker suede skirt and heels to offset the softness. I always love to hear about what inspires people – even if they are the tiniest detail of something. What’s your inspiration?

I wish I could have posted the full set earlier because I absolutely loved doing this shoot with Myranda. We did three separate outfit shoots. We found a great spot in Little Rock for this set. It really speaks for itself. I will be posting the other ones as soon as possible because It’s exciting to see the finished product and I really wanna share. We are currently talking about a fun shoot for July – It will be a retro bridal shoot and I can’t wait!

This blush pink dress was a thrift find in Hot Springs. Adding the silk colorful scarf highlighted the neckline. It’s a classic look that can be more fun for a date night than just a typical LBD.

Layering for comfort is a must in the winter, especially in the colder areas!. Knee high socks are in, but like some other pieces the socks can completely change the tone of the outfit. I prefer to wear tights with the knee highs for a more sophisticated look. This is my go- to comfort look when It’s freezing outside.

It started getting a little chillier here, and the greatest part about that is all of the layers I can finallly wear without being overheated. I wanted to take a fall color and highlight it with black and gold. A short black skirt and tights with sleek black boots is a super easy outfit to pair.

It’s always exciting to experience a new city! I went to Kansas City, MO for a few days, and it was like a breath of fresh air. I was pleasantly surprised by a city that I found to be more active and cosmopolitan than I had expected. There was more than enough to fill our time here, which included visits to a huge outdoor market that sold a lot of vintage items, a macaroon shop called Bloom’s Baking Company, and Union Station. I chose to take advantage of the crisp early morning weather downtown before the streets were too busy for photos.

This polka dot sweater is a J. Crew piece that I was able to get for a tenth of the retail price. It was in great condition even though I found it at Goodwill, and even had the original tags attached. I wanted to mix patterns for this outfit but to keep the focus on the vintage Nordstrom clutch. When pairing multiple patterns, you want to make sure there is a significant difference in the size. You also want the larger pattern above the smaller one. Notice that the larger pattern on top and the smaller on bottom is more slimming.

This 100% silk skirt came from Goodwill! The pattern is somewhat art deco, and the belt added emphasis to the irregular lines. I had been looking for a replica of the Valentino shoes I like, and these were a cute and affordable find. I decided to use makeup that popped while using a more neutral blouse. I used gold accessories to bring it all together. I thought this ivy would be a nice border while it’s still around – green things tend to disappear quickly around here when fall begins!

One of my best friends got me a tulle skirt for my birthday, and I was so excited to use it in a post! I adore the tulle look. I always remember the opening to Sex and the City and I love the girly simplicity of the skirt. Did you know that the actual skirt from the opening scene was a thrift find that Patricia Field found quite randomly? It’s amazing to think that a discarded piece could become something so iconic!

I added a bold lipstick to contrast with the white skirt. I chose an NP set in the color Florence. This is one of my favorite lipstick brands, and it’s a cheaper one. I paid $5 for it on sale at Target.

When I think of fun American styles, I imagine the Rosie the Riveter scarf, denim, and bold red. I wanted to represent a little of each part of the iconic look. I wore a more current version of the scarf, and kept my hair on the messy / curly side so I looked a little more ready for some fun fireworks and lake time! Let me know an iconic American  style  that you absolutely love!

I hope everyone has a safe, amazing, and very happy fourth of July! 🙂
